George and Jai competed incredibly well amongst the top U17 athletes in the country. Both started very well with personal best performances in the pool, George posting a 2.16 and Jai a 2.20 for their 200m. This saw George start just 24 seconds behind the leader and Jai 33 in the final run/shoot. Both boys had promising races with George in 4th at some stages in the race and Jai moving up positions in the early stages. A tough final shoot saw George cross the line 7th just 10 seconds off 4th with Jai 10th.
This is the first of two ranking competitions which forms the U17 ranking list from which GB selections are made for this summer's major International's. The next race is 22/23 April, British Tetrathlon Championships. As a result of his performance this weekend, George has been invited for an GB International training camp and the Portuguese Open in Lisbon during the first week of Easter - A fantastic opportunity.
