Sunday was busy day of hockey for the boys, with each side playing twice.

The Peacocks were up first playing against two of the tougher sides at the festival, Wyburg and Maritzburg College. We played arguably our best hockey of the tour so far against Wyneburg, winning 4-1 with goals from Kit Bellman, Felix Cadogan, Spencer Wood + Dylan Holland.

The Peacocks followed this up with a 3-0 win over Maritzburg College with goals from Joe Farmer, Fin Hurst and Dylan Holland. Max Christopher was busy in both fixtures and made some fine saves during the day.

The Flamingos, our younger side, continued to make excellent progress against much older boys. They were desperately unlucky to come out of their first game against Selborne with only a 0-0 draw. They then lost out 0-1 to Grey PE in an immensely competitive encounter with some very questionable umpiring!

On Monday, our final day at Jeppe, we mixed up the two sides with half U15 + half U14 boys. The first game against Jeppe was a cagey affair with the hosts probably having the better of the game. With a number of very tired boys, Whitgift were perhaps fortunate to come away with a 0-0 draw. The second game against Pretoria Boys proved even tougher for Whitgift and a 4-1 defeat reflected just how much the tournament schedule had taken its toll on our boys.

Despite a disappointing final day, it was a superb week of hockey for our boys. They have won the admiration of many South African schools and supporters with the way they have played and conducted themselves this week.
