Well done to the full team that competed at the British Tetrathlon Championships this weekend. The U13 and U15 team were successful in claiming the British title with the U17 team collecting silver behind a strong Yorkshire Pentathlon Club team. Martin Van Domselaar put in an incredible performance across all disciplines, particularly a commanding lead in the fencing to become the British U13 Individual Champion. Team mates Luis Grainger and Quentin Aude-Lange featured just outside the podium positions in 5th and 6th. In the U15 category the team of Christopher Finch, James Taylor and Lorenzo Ball won the age category with Finch the highest individual in 8th place. The U17 competition was incredibly fierce with the competition counting for selection for Great Britain in this summer's major championships. The team put in credible performances with George Simpson just sneaking inside the top 10 with 9th place. The Whitgift team of George Simpson, Jai Patel and Dario Kan stepped on the podium for silver. In the open category, OW Jospeh Choong made an exciting comeback to competition to take the British title with fellow OW Sam Curry collecting the bronze medal. With the launch of the Academy open to external members in November 2016, we were able to enter the girls competition for the first time. U13 Sabrina Jones had a commanding fence to strong overall performance to collect individual bronze with Gabrielle Holland in 5th. Whitgift was represented by 19 pupils and the team was complemented by 5 academy members.
