End of Tour......

Final Blog

We have all had a fantastic few weeks in South Africa and the lads have been a credit to themselves and Whitgift . The Rugby has been as tough as we had expected it to be and both squads have developed well and we have a good foundation to go into the season ahead now for all our Senior Teams . The fixtures have all been different and have given us an excellent insight into South African schoolboy rugby .
It has been great to see the two year groups come together and to see the lads really getting to know their new teammates and enjoying themselves .
Rugby Tours are about so much more than just the rugby and the experiences we have had these last few weeks in South Africa will be in everyone's memories for a long time . We have been to Waterfront in Cape Town , climbed Table Mountain ( I have only just recovered from that !) , seen lots of animals , zip wired over canyons , been on safaris and much more . The people we have met , as well as the places we have been to have been excellent .
We started planning this tour in October 2015 and it is great to see how much everyone has enjoyed it and made the most of the opportunities .
I would like to thanks the Headmaster , sponsors and parents and everyone who has made this possible .
My fellow coaches have been superb , as has Sally Kibble and we are a close knit team off the pitch and I want to thank them all for their efforts in the build up to the tour and over the last few weeks .
Most of all I would like to thank the players . They are a great bunch who clearly love the game and enjoy themselves and that, after all , is what it is all about .
Well done everyone and I look forward to catching up with everyone when we are back .
