Congratulations to the Whitgift U13 football squad who, after a thrilling win earlier this week, are through to the Investec Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Cup final.

The boys ISFA journey has seen them overcome Yardley Court (13-1), Chigwell School (4-0), Brighton College (7-0) and University College School (10-1). They achieved a comfortable 7-0 win over Royal Russel School in the semi-final.

The final, against Lochinver House School, will be played at the Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion FC, on the 15 March. This will be Whitgift’s eighth ISFA U13 Cup final in a row, having won the national competition six times.

Mr Andrew Martin, Director of Football, commented, “The team’s march to the final has been very impressive. Credit to the boys for applying themselves during training, ensuring that they were well prepared for the matches. We expect a tough match against a strong Lochinver side but, if the boys stick together and continue to work as a team, we can be quietly confident.”
