Despite the snowy conditions the British Schools Biathlon Final took place this weekend albeit a little disrupted with the running being cancelled for health and safety concerns with snow and ice lying on the track. It was decided that the run score from qualifying rounds would be carried forwarded and added to the swim result on the day.

We had a record number of 40 boys qualify for the National Final which shows the depth of the squad and we certainly had the biggest number of qualifiers than any other school in Britain.

The standout performance of the day came from our U12 teams with not only a new National Team title ahead of 18 other teams but with the Whitgift B team collecting the team silver! Other age group team medals came from the U13s with bronze and the U14s with silver. Many of our boys featured in the top 20 from classes of over 100 in most cases.

Well done to all that competed in good spirits despite the disappointment of not having the opportunity to better their run times which I'm certain many would have given the commitment and dedication to training over the last few months.

Gold: U12 A - Conrad Norman, Liam Beveridge, Joseph Russian

Silver: U12 B - Rudy Kool, Joe Mumford, Joe McKenzie

Silver: U14 A - Christopher Finch, Peter Asnar-Klein, Max Penniceard

Bronze: U13 A - Martin Van Domselaar, Artyom Boyarov, Alex Lewis
