Whitgift School NZ Tour Blog: T-30 Hours

Dear all,

With just over 30 hours until our meet time at London Heathrow, excitement levels are very high. My name is Mr Lewis and I will be working with the lads over in NZ to (hopefully) provide you with a platform to read all about the tour on a daily basis. We all know how poor teenagers can be at communicating and so hopefully this blog will provide you with the opportunity to keep up to date with all things Whitgift in NZ. Each day I will ask a boy or a pair of boys to write a short blog entry about our day on tour which will then be posted on here.

Before we go, I'd like to thank everyone for all the hard work they've put in to ensure that this tour will be a monumental success. The boys for all the effort that they've been putting in at training, the coaches for giving up their time and expertise to put on the sessions and the school for allowing such a tour to go ahead. A special thanks must be reserved for you, the parents. For all your support, the fundraising, the brochure printing and for giving your sons the opportunity of a lifetime. Lastly, a huge thank you to all of our sponsors, without who this tour would simply not be possible. Thank you all!

Touring is what rugby is all about. It doesn't seem that long ago that I myself was on my way to Australia as a Whitgift pupil, accompanied by none other than Mr Webb and Mr Wilkins (They haven't aged a day!). Memories are created and friendships cemented, both of which will hopefully last a lifetime. The boys will have an incredible time and we hope that you enjoy reading about their experiences on this blog.

Mr Lewis
